Bilbao, the largest city in the Basque Country, is very close to Getxo, about 20 minutes away by car or metro. While Getxo is a residential coastal area where the wedding will be held, Bilbao also has a lot to offer and can be a great option for accommodation or exploring during your trip.

BY PLANE
Bilbao Airport is 20 minutes from Getxo and 10 minutes from Bilbao.
BY CAR
From Madrid, it's a 4 hour and 15 minute drive.
This is a great option for those who decide to spend more than a day in Bilbao, as you can easily visit the beaches and the outskirts of the city.
If you choose to come by car, we recommend stopping at Landa, which is on the way to Burgos, to have lunch before arriving in Getxo.

Visit to the Suspension Bridge. World Heritage Site.

Transfer to Bilbao.
By underground. 25-minute journey. Get off at Moyua.

Visit to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

Aperitif in the Ledesma or Diputación area.

To visit San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, you must reserve a ticket in advance, as there is a capacity limit. Admission is free, but tickets must be requested ahead of time. Here is the link where you can make your reservation.
T R A N S P O R T
The city offers different ways to get around and comfortably enjoy every activity. We recommend several transport options so you can choose the one that best suits you.
TAXIS
The metro is the fastest and most convenient way to get around Bilbao and its surroundings. Line 1 connects the city centre directly with Getxo, where the ceremony and celebration will take place and where the hotels we recommend are located.
The stations closest to our key locations are: Gobela, Neguri, Algorta
The service starts at 6:00 a.m. and runs until 11:00 p.m. on weekdays.
